In order to save the town, the director of the local museum invents an Arpad-era hero, the heroic hero Bodony. At first the council president is reluctant to cheat, but for the right reasons his wife persuades him to commit fraud. The town begins to develop, and tourism revenues increase. However, this uninterrupted development is fundamentally threatened by the emergence of a pair of conmen who outwit even the inventors of the valiant Bodony.
