Silvia Monteferrante, a young literature professor, suddenly finds herself embroiled in the investigation into the death of her ex-husband, a police sub-inspector. His disappearance also leads to the loss of funds belonging to an organization embedded within the police force itself, of which her ex-husband was a member.
