Qin Yangming, leader of a mortal kingdom, faces imminent destruction from evil deities and monsters threatening to break through from the spiritual world. Unbeknownst to him, he will be reborn 800 years later as Ning Caichen, a timid scholar who initially resists but later falls in love with Nie Xiaoqian, a female spirit.
