Elena, a socially awkward and lonely young grocery store cashier, is preparing to close up shop under the oppressive watchful eye of her supervisor, Claire. When Claire piles more tasks on her, Elena tries to escape the burdens of her daily life by retreating into her imagination, to the point where she begins to confuse it with reality. Miraculously, the course of the evening changes when a mysterious customer walks into the grocery store and turns Elena’s boring reality upside down.
